Frequently Asked Questions
What is integrative transpersonal counselling and how does it work?
Integrative transpersonal counselling is a whole person approach that combines techniques from various modalities, such as Gestalt, mindfulness, psychoanalytic therapy, the creative arts and body psychotherapy. We will collaborate to tailor the approach to your needs and what will best support you in any given moment .
Who can benefit from integrative transpersonal counselling?
Integrative transpersonal counselling can be helpful for individuals who are seeking a personalised and whole person approach to therapy. It can be particularly helpful if you are seeking to address multiple concerns and find meaning and purpose in life. I work with adults from all walks of life.
How long does counselling last?
The length of counselling can vary. Some individuals may choose a few sessions to address specific concerns, while others may choose to continue counselling for a longer period of time to work through more in-depth issues or to achieve personal growth. The frequency and duration of counselling sessions will be determined by us together, and can be adjusted as needed.
Is counselling confidential?
Counselling is generally confidential, which means that the information shared in sessions is not shared with anyone outside of the counselling relationship without your consent. However, there are some exceptions to confidentiality, such as if the individual is at risk of harm to themselves or others, or if there is a legal requirement to disclose information.
As part of an ethical practice, I participate in regular supervision to discuss my work and receive guidance and feedback. The information shared is typically limited to what is necessary, and is not shared with anyone outside the supervision relationship.
It is important to discuss confidentiality to understand any potential limitations.
